There are two vehicle entrances off State Hwy 32 that will lead you to Parking Areas A and B (see map). In order to maintain a quality hunt for all our hunters, we restrict vehicle access to only the days you are permitted to hunt. You may scout prior to your hunt by walking into the BCCER from Highway 32. All reserve roads are dirt and driving conditions are variable depending on weather. A four wheel drive vehicle is recommended at all times and required for accessing parking areas A2 and B during very wet conditions.
The entrance to Parking Areas A1 and A2 is 11.1 miles east of the intersection of Hwy 32 and Hwy 99. The entrance is on the left and is easy to miss. The road into the reserve drops away from the highway rather abruptly. If you come to Fourteen Mile House Rd. on the right side of the highway, you have gone too far. Turn around and backtrack about 2/3 of a mile and watch for the driveway. The entrance gate is 100 yards down the driveway. (Combination will be on your hunt permit). Continue down the dirt road, past the house and barn. The hunting areas and refuge areas (closed zones) will be clearly marked with signs.
The entrance to Parking Area B is 8.1 miles east from the intersection of Hwy 32 and Hwy 99. There will be a green, locked gate off the left side of the Highway. (Gate combination will be on your hunting permit. Please carry this with you at all times.) Enter at this gate and continue down 2.1 miles to the second locked gate. The second gate is the Reserve boundary. There will be a small parking area (Parking Area B) about 100 yards past the gate.
It is advisable to purchase the Northern California Atlas & Gazetteer published by DeLORME as well as the USGS topo map (Paradise West quadrangle).
