Safety Education
The California Deer Association offers Hunter Safety classes
through many of its local chapters. To be eligible to apply for the
many hunting opportunities sponsored by CDA, you must have successfully
completed California state Hunter Safety Education. Check back here
for an updated schedule of local Hunter Safety classes through your
local CDA chapter.
In the meantime, the California Department of
Fish and Game offers Hunter Safety Education classes throughout
the state. Check
their website for a schedule of programs available in your
area.
Upcoming Hunter Safety Class in Gilroy, February 26 and 27, 2010
Class includes wildlife management, hunter ethics and laws, firearm safety and handling, ecology, wildlife identification, survival and outdoor safety. Class will meet on Friday evening at the Senior Center with the Saturday portion at the beautiful Canada de los Osos Ecological Reserve, a 4,500 acre ranch provided by the California Deer Association and the California Department of Fish and Game. Directions will be given at Friday evening's class. Class meets all the requirements of the California Department of Fish and Game to obtain a valid hunting license, as well as all other U.S. states.
Special Instructions: $10 material fee to be paid Friday evening to the instructor for class supplies. Class workbook can be obtained at the Gilroy Community Services office. Notebook and pencil are required. Please review workbook prior to class.
